Thank you for joining us at the CURRY COUNTY FAIR! We are very excited for this amazing event. Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions about entering exhibits:
- What can I enter? There are a LOT of different Departments available to enter exhibits. There are opportunities in: Creative Arts, Culinary, Fiber Arts, Floral, Hobby Craft, Land Products, Livestock and Photography. Click here for the list of Departments and all of the different classes in each Department. Contact information for the Department Superintendent can be found here as well.
- How do I enter? For static (non-livestock) entries: First, you must obtain a NEW EXHIBITOR NUMBER by contacting the fair office. Then, on entry day you bring your entry and the “Curry Fair Exhibitor Entry Form” and the exhibitor tag to the designed location at the Curry Fairgrounds. There are specific hours you can bring your entries. You must complete one “Curry Fair Exhibitor Entry Form” for each DEPARTMENT you enter (not one for each entry). For Livestock entries, contact the Livestock Superintendents. Click here for their contact information.
- Where do I find my exhibitor number? Stop by, call or email the Curry County Fair Office - (541-247-4541, curryfair@gmail.com) and they will provide you with your number or a new number if you didn't get one in 2023. You can also get a number on entry day – but we expect it to be busy that day.
- Where can I get the paperwork and forms and how do I fill them out? For static (non-livestock) entries, you will need to fill out a “Curry Fair Exhibitor Entry Form” for each Department you are entering, and an exhibitor tag for every exhibit you are entering. In addition, some Departments have additional tags and requirements – see the rules section in each Department. Click here for the link to the “Curry Fair Exhibitor Form”, the “Livestock Entry Form”, or the “Little People’s Showmanship” entry form. You can also stop by the Office on the north side of the Fairgrounds parking lot (closest to Spinners) for tags and forms. The forms and tags will also be available on entry day in each building. If you have questions on how to complete the entry form or tag, you can contact the Superintendent for that specific department. Their contact information can be found in their specific Department pages. Click here to go to the Department pages.
- Do I have to pre-register if I’m entering an exhibit? Not for static (non-livestock) entries. Just come in on entry day. If you fill out the appropriate entry form and tag before you come in, it will be faster for you. But if you’re not sure about how to fill the forms out, we’ll help you that day. For Livestock entries, click here for the pre-registration requirements.
- Is there a fee to enter an exhibit? Not for static (non-livestock) entries. For Livestock entries, fees are shown on the “Livestock Entry Form”
- Where is the list of things I can enter? Click here for a list of all the different Departments and classes available for you to enter.
- How experienced do I have to be? No experience is necessary. In fact, we strongly encourage new people to enter and bring their new ideas and perspectives.
- Is it limited to adults? Not at all. Juniors can enter all the same classes and categories as adults. Juniors are judged separately.
- What are the rules? Click here for all the rules for the specific Department you are interested in.
- What are the dates for entering exhibits and for judging? The dates and times for entering and judging exhibits change each year. Click here for specific dates and times for static (non-livestock) entries. For entering and judging information on livestock entries, check with the Livestock Superintendent.
- Can I watch the judging? No. Exhibitors are not allowed in on Judging Day.
- Can I win anything? Yes! Each static (non-livestock) Department has a variety of special awards you can win. In addition, entries can win a first, second or third place ribbon and there are several other special rosette awards as well. The list of awards will be posted in May. For each ribbon your entry wins you will receive points. The exhibitor with the highest number of points awarded in a single department will win the “Department Champion” award. If you enter and place in at least three different departments, you will be eligible for the “Grand Champion Exhibitor” award. For Livestock entries, see the specific animal class section.
- How do I qualify for the “Grand Champion Exhibitor” award? You must be a Curry County resident to qualify for Grand Champion Exhibitor. This is awarded to the exhibitor who has the highest number of overall points and has entered and placed in at least 3 of the static (non-livestock) departments. If you are entering exhibits in at least 3 of these departments, make sure to sign up to be eligible for the “GCE” award ON ENTRY DAY. If you do not sign up, you will not be eligible.
- How will I know if I win? Stop by the Fair when it opens to the public. If you won an award, it will be attached to your exhibit.
- How would I collect my winnings? There are specific dates and times for distributing winnings. Click here for specific dates and times.
- How do I pick up my exhibits after the fair? There are specific dates and times for collecting your exhibits. Click here for specific dates and times.
